Make a Bandsaw Jewelry Box out of Wood

I really like the appearance and feel of these boxes. In the past, I always went with a single board that I would cut into pieces and glue to form a block, and then start the bandsaw work. But this time I tested a bit of contrast. This is cherry with very simple, presumably-lacking-any-sex-appeal pine. Literally from a 2*8.

The design is an adaptation of Lois Keener Ventura`s models in her bandsaw book.

I believe this new approach will help me to salvage nice boards that would otherwise be too short to constitute a full block.

Comments are more than welcome!
